EROS is a collaborative project, best described as a small and independent online visual kei group. The full team is not professional, nor licensed scene artists. Most activities remain conceptual but the members of this project work in hopes of self-producing music and merchandise when possible.The current activities of this group consist of distributing conceptual albums, persona lore, and occasional streams as VTubers. The band will also release covers and original compositions that will blossom further overtime as skills are learnt and naturally developed.
The main focus of EROS is to showcase what is referred to as Conceptual Phantom Albums. As a team, a digital album with an artistic theme and corresponding story is released, similarly to that of a real album. It will contain song demos/original music, song titles, and detailed explanations of each member’s contributing story. Special photo sets, related artworks, and merchandise will be shared to the online public, mainly as a group hobby and form of entertainment. About
Eros is a greek divinity signifying the loving desire itself. He holds an important place in the religious greek thought and in its social life as well as in the Arts and the litterature of the Ancient Greeks. In the Orphic Cosmogonies explaining the advent of the world, Eros is a primordial "strenght" that has no mother or father. In the Cosmogony coming from an orphic inspiration where Aristophanes tells us in The Birds, the (loving) desire arises from a "clear" egg which means that it has been unimpregnated, prior to a sexual union. Eros is one of those who, of origin of all things, integrates and unify all the opposite principles, for instance the female sex and male sex, the feminine and the masculine, the one and the diverse.
This representation of Eros has countlessly been developed in a mystic universe that refuses the binary world where the beings and the things are separated and distinguished : a universe that aspires to the togetherness and the fullness of an original.
On a side note, the Eros in the Myth of Eros and Psyche (also known as the Love and the Spirit) is a different version of the divinity. His character is differently symbolic and has a more of a fairy tale aspect depicted by different Ancient authors, which influenced the story of the more famous Beauty and the Beast.
